Sue lives in Rising Sun, but was raised in Coldwater, Michigan. She is the oldest of four siblings, and has two nephews and a niece. Sue says art is a family affair. She states that her grandparents, her father, and her aunt were all artists. She is a retired educator and taught and coached for 33 years in the Rising Sun, Ohio County School system. She counts her 11 adopted ( not biological, but chosen) grandchildren as being among the greatest joys of her life. Sue graduated from Eastern Michigan University, and obtained her master’s degree from Ball State University. Sue Hart likes to paint on canvas and various kinds of paper. She employs water colors, acrylics, and adds a lot of mixed media textures to her expressive and colorful art works. She paints weekly with a group of master artists. They are led by Sandy Maudlin. Sue credits Maudlin, her teacher of 25 years, with inspiring creativity without fear. She says Sandy is an amazing human and really encourages growth.
